Description Mark Price 2005-11-10 09:48:04 UTC
First, congratulations to the nautilus team for the nifty "ctrl-s" that allows
the user to filter the results shown with a regular expression, which seems to
be a relatively new feature. I first saw something like this suggested when
nautilus 1 was in beta, although the suggestion at that time is still superior
to the current one from a usability standpoint, which was that such support
should be built directly into the location bar. I should be able to navigate to
/home/me/Documents/*.odt and be presented with all .odt documents.

Taking this to the logical extreme in one direction, you get the feature request
I made just before this one, which is that entering the full path to a file in a
"ctrl-L" dialog should result in a nautilus window that has that file selected,

Doing this would effectively merge the functionality ctrl-S and ctrl-L into one
command.
