Currently there is no way to edit the comment for PNG images. While jpeg export
plugin allows to edit the comment in the last phase, I'd be looking in
file>properties to edit this.

Other information:
Not being able to edit the comment per file hurts for patterns most - RGBA
patterns are really useful and PNG is just the right format for those. The
pattern selection dock shows the pattern comment as a description making it look
extremely silly if all patterns have the default comment.

Raphael is working on this stuff. There hasn't been much progress lately, but I
am still full of hope...
