1. Add a second instance of notification area applet to the panel (one
comes with default panel configuration). Make sure you have 2 instances
of the applet on the panel.
2. open gnome-cd from launch -> Applicatons -> Multimedia -> CD player

Bug: only the first notification area applet gets updated with the cd
icon.

Expected behavior : both the applets should show the cd icon.

Nope. Only one notification area per screen, since it owns a manager selection
(see the spec http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Standards_2fsystemtray_2dspec)
