Description bughunter 2005-11-07 02:06:47 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz)
Package: evince
Severity: major
Version: GNOME2.10.0 0.4.x
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: Crash when viewing pdf
Bugzilla-Product: evince
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 0.4.x
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.10.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Sluggish response followed by crash.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Maximized window size so that I can read the font size.
2. Scrolled and highlighted sections of text repeatedly - basically the mouse version of doodling.
3. Display starts to have trouble refreshing the screen and then poof!

Expected Results:
Shouldn't crash...

How often does this happen?
It is repeatable.

Additional Information:
1. When dragging the mouse across text, it didn't highlight contiguous
words, only certain characters. This suggests some strange ordering of
    characters within the PDF.
2. The PDF file was produced from a MS Word document.

Debugging Information:

Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evince'

(no debugging symbols found)
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
