Description Kevin McBride 2005-11-06 16:27:11 UTC
There has been several users asking us to remove troll make and add the GNU
autotools to doxygen's source code. I am filing this bug to remind everyone
that there is some one willing to take on the difficult task. I will analyze
the current source code after bug # 317773 is fully approved, and when an
analysis is complete, I will post a comment to this bug.

I am hoping to have the GNU Autotools added before doxygen 2.x is released.

I haven't really heard any really convincing reasons for why this is needed,
except for building outside of the tree, which is nice but not essential IMHO.
Comment 2 Kevin McBride 2005-11-13 17:18:38 UTC
Re-opening bug per the investigation of bug 321108.
Comment 3 Kevin McBride 2005-11-13 17:36:04 UTC
oops... this bug shouldn't have been reopened... guess I'll just leave the
status on this bug as-is for now :)
Comment 4 Kevin McBride 2005-12-19 20:14:20 UTC
I am changing the status on this bug to "won't fix". I think doxygen needs a structure overwrite, thus possibly opening a doxygen2 branch if a new structure can be agreed upon.
Comment 5 Kevin McBride 2006-10-18 05:53:51 UTC
Per an e-mail from Dimitri, and based on discovery from K-3D's source code [http://www.k-3d.org/], I am re-opening this bug since we might not need to do a structure re-write.
Comment 6 Kevin McBride 2015-06-28 20:02:54 UTC
With CMake being used in 1.8.11-GIT, and CMake being the better standard for compatibility when compiling, I am closing this bug for good.
