Please describe the problem:
- open a full screen terminal
- open a text file in "less"
- seek to the end
- scroll backwards by pressing page up or "b"
- observe gnome-terminal scrolling the document line by line, taking over a
second on a AMD64 3200+

Using xterm the operation happens instantly. All software from current Fedora
Core 4.
