GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 320339
context menu for cd disc on the desktop and in the computer:///
Last modified: 2005-11-01 17:21:01 UTC
The context menu for a CD volume, both audio and data, is different on the desktop and in the Computer window. Why should it be so? The lack of "Copy disc" (or something like this, I use translated GNOME) operation on the desktop is quite annoying. Other information:
The only differences whilst using a data cd in my two context menus are that "stretch icon", and "restore original size" appear on the desktop context menu but not the computer one. I do get a "Copy disc.." menu on both. Just to check, you are referring to the context (right click) menu on the Desktop cd icon and the Computer cd icon? I believe this functionality was introduced in gnome 2.12.x, could you reply with the version of gnome you are using? I'm using ubuntu and gnome 2.12.1
Yes, I also mean the right click. I use Freerock GNOME (the current branch). Version numbers: GNOME 2.12.1, Nautilus 2.12.1. Could it be because of some obsolete settings in ~/.gconf ? I've used earlier versions before.
This was fixed in Nautilus 2.13, cf. bug 316483. Ubuntu uses a hack [1] to achieve the same result. See [2] for some links on the issue.
