Look in folder: Filesystem
Search for a file (e.g., "java*.xml")
Tab to "Search Results"
Orca will hang.

I've tried reproducing this problem on my Ubuntu 5.10 box and the latest Orca sources. Does Orca hang indefinitely, or does it just stay quiet while the search happens and not say anything when the search is done? That is, on my system, I can move around the interface when the search is done and Orca will happily speak for me. But...it doesn't give me any notion of the search progress.

If this is also the case for you, please let me know. This is something where a script for gnome-search-tool might be needed.

I can confirm that this isn't a hang. It just takes a really
long time to complete. Visually there is an animated magnifying
glass icon to show you that something is happening, but no real
feedback for a blind person. One thing that can be done is to Tab
to the button in the bottom right corner. If it's labelled "Stop"
then the find operation is still in progress. If it's labelled "Find",
then there is no find operation currently taking place.

What could be done here is to write a gnome-search-tool script that
will automatically speak when some results are added to the Search
Results text pane as the find operation completes.

I'm going to reopen this "bug", change it to an enhancement, so that
this can be implemented.

I've just noticed that there is another bug from Vincent that covers
this problem. Closing this one as a duplicate of that one.
