GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 318232
While moving around files&folders on my USB hard disk, nautilus While moving around files&folders on my USB hard disk, nautilus frequently crashes.
Last modified: 2006-04-20 13:24:54 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open two nautilus windows, and move around files and folders, delete some, navigate around. 2. After some time, while opening/expanding/collapsing/changing a folder, a window opens with "nautilus has crashed - restart, inform developers,..." (in German) Expected Results: Should not happen. How often does this happen? During heavy moving/deleting/copying operations, about 2-5 crashes per hour. (I'm currently cleaning up my archives). Stack trace: Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/nautilus' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Other information: Sorry for the vague informations, but I did not yet find a step-by-step way to reproduce the crashes.
Hi! I installed some -dbg Packages, and here is a new backtrace from another crash. I hope it helps. Thanks for your efforts! This was already reported as bug 158506. It would be extremely helpful if you upgraded to Nautilus 2.12.1 and checked back whether the issue still occurs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 158506 ***
I already use Nautilus 2.12.1/GNOME 2.12.1 (part of Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy i386, last update this morning). "About GNOME" says (in German): "Version:2.12.1, Distributor: Ubuntu, Build Date: Oct 3rd 2005" If you need further information, let me know. Ciao Martin
