Description Roberto Piscitello 2005-10-02 10:54:30 UTC
I often find myself digging into the preferences dialog only to set/unset the
"Enable Text Wrapping" switch.
Since this setting depends on the kind of document you opened, it should be
possible to access it a faster way.
I propose an item in the View menu.

It would also be cute if gedit remembered this setting for every document it
opened, but maybe this should be another bug submission:-)

Yes, this is really desiderable but poses some ui design problems: how to
determine the default behavior? I mean, the menu just affects the current
document, how do you turn off word wrapping i general?

Having both the preference and the menu seems confusing...

Anyway, marking this as dup of #119428
