Description Daniel Holbach 2005-09-29 10:29:12 UTC
Distribution/Version: Ubuntu Breezy

Forwarded from: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16531

Steps to repro:

1. Right-click on desktop - preferrably at the lower right
2. Choose "Create Folder" (or similar)
3. Find the new icon at the upper left

Expected result:

Find the new icon where the user right-clicked.

Why it is annoying and not especially user-friendly:

If the upper left corner is covered by a window, the new directory does not
appear to be created. This breaks the rule to always visualize the state of the
system.

The User provided a screenshot at
http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/attachment.cgi?id=4156 which is described with "Upper
left part of desktop covered by app

Click where the big red X is. The new directory will be created somewhere below
the Firefox window."
