GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 316999
The Nautilus FTP Client can't show folders which names only consits of numbers.
Last modified: 2005-09-23 10:54:39 UTC
Please describe the problem: I tested it on 2 different FTPd's , a) the default OsX ftpd , b) Proftpd on our webhosting facility. Screenshot: http://metasecurity.dk/files/nautilus.jpg public_html on midnight.2stepahead.com is my girlsfriends picture archive online, this is how we found the bug. The folder which is shown by "drwxrwxrwx 8 midnight root 4096 Sep 23 04:52 Billeder 2005" are actualle named "2006" , and similare below. We are running a plain ubuntu 5.04 , i tested this from two different Ubuntu installations , im afraid i dont have any other Gnome installations to test from. Steps to reproduce: 1. Log in to an FTP Server 2. Create Folder named "2005","8" or any other numberic-only name. 3. Refresh the folder a couple of times. Actual results: The folder will be created but nautilus will not be able to show it properly. Expected results: That nautilus would show the folder as it is "2005" Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: You are welcome to contact me to call me a moron and tell me what i did wrong, or to get further info on this bug.
