Description Antonio Ognio 2005-09-17 18:38:38 UTC
It looks like Evince can't open documents compressed in formats like .gz or
.bz2. Since some distros (e.g. Debian / Ubuntu) include compressed PDFs as part
of the docs this would be a nice feature to implement so the user doesn't have
to uncompress files which are tipically owned by root. Some people even won't
know what to do. For now Evince could just report the file is compressed and
instruct the user to uncompress it first.

Thanks for reporting this. But unfortunately we already discuss this problem in
another bug. Please continue reasoning there.
