Having full write access to files on a remote server over ssh from within GNome
apps (mostly GEdit) would be great. The fish:// protocol (as implemented by KDE
and - I think - mc) would add much value to gnome-vfs.

Thanks for your bug report!
You already *have* full access through the sftp:// protocol. The issue is just
that GEdit has not yet full support for writing back to remote URIs. See bug 110191.
