Description ruediger05 2005-09-09 10:55:31 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start GIMP
2. If it has not crashed yet, try doing something (for example file -> open or
opening a file via drag 'n' drop)

Stack trace:

Other information:
starting gimp the regular splash screen shows up. I think it runs through
everything and if it hangs, it's after the splash screen and not while.
Sometimes I even get the UI, but I can't open a file or create a new one.
The crash is the same: I get a Windows error report (or how it might be called
in english). The so-called signature is the same, too: AppName: gimp-2.2.exe
AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: icm32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2709 Offset: 0000433c
This error is new to me. Gimp did run, I don't know why it doesn't any longer. I
had a older version installed, which crashed (it did run some time ago) the same
way so I updated The Gimp (and the new version did never run, of course).

What's described in bug #300186 didn't help me.
My System is WinXP SP2 with all updates. Graphics Adapter: S3 ProSavageDDR
Resolution: 1024x768@32bpp

Yet another duplicate of bug #301139 ?!
Comment 3 ruediger05 2005-09-09 13:53:52 UTC
I don't think so, because I never read 'pango' in a error message.
Also, I don't have to open the open dialog to crash.

Might be interesting that Inkscape and Paint.net (worked before) don't work,
too. MS-Paint works. Corel Presentations works as well.

This is actually a duplicate of bug #304326 (which is an instance of DLL Hell).
