Description Sebastien Bacher 2005-09-09 08:17:33 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14929

"There's no way (at least it's not obvious) to drag an entire thread of emails
from the message pane to a folder in the folder list when operating in threaded
view. It seems that each message must be drag-and-dropped manually.
...
> Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? The dnd acts on the
selected messages here. What happen if you try to dnd a selection?

Screenshot of Thread icon in Thunderbird

Yes, I can select all messages in a thread and dnd them to a folder, but the
functionality that's (apparently) missing is being able to grab a *collapsed*
thread and with one dnd move the entire thread to a folder. I've attached a
screenshot showing this functionality in Mozilla Thunderbird. You can see that
it offers a "balloon" icon for threads (circled in red). You simply dnd the
balloon icon, and the entire thread is dropped. I can't seem to achieve this
behavior in Evolution."

Hmm, for some reason I believe I answered a report just like this the other day already. :)

Anyway, this is a duplicate of bug 262328. Selecting a collapsed thread should select the entire thread, rather than the "visible" message only.

As a workaround: Ctrl-H (Folder / Select Message Thread) selects the entire thread even when being collapsed.
