Description Jeremy Messenger 2005-09-07 03:37:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
It couldn't find evolution.desktop, because Evolution 2.4.0 only has evolution-
2.4.desktop .

Steps to reproduce:
1. Panel will complain with error of missing evolution.desktop and an icon never
show up in panel by default.
2.
3.

Actual results:
Start panel in the default configure.

Expected results:
See above

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
Change from evolution.desktop to evolution-2.4.desktop in gnome-panel/panel-
default-setup.entries.in to fix the problem. Isn't GNOME 2.12 going to have
Evolution 2.4.0 in the release? The Makefile.am for Evolution is pretty clear
that the .desktop file will be installed with a version in it.

IMHO, evolution shouldn't use the version in the filename. See this thread:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-hackers/2005-September/msg00034.html

I'm leaving the bug open for now, but I won't fix this in the panel. Or I'll
remove the evolution launcher...
