Description Sean Middleditch 2005-08-30 18:51:37 UTC
There is no menu entry to modify an addressbook. The only way to get to the
properties of an addressbook (to, say, change the settings for an LDAP
connection) is to right-click on the addressbook in contacts side-pane. This is
undiscoverable, and not very friendly to users who can't or don't use the right
mouse button. A menu entry should be available for both editing the properties
of an addressbook and removing the addressbook.

Alternatively, addressbooks should be configurable in the preferences window,
just like mail servers can be configured there. (Why are mail servers in
preferencs and directory servers are not?)

Other information:
Regarding the software version, this is with Evolution 2.3.8. Using the
packages from Ubuntu Breezy; package evolution-2.3.8-0ubuntu2.

I think we can have Actions -> modify address book.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2005-08-31 11:18:51 UTC
adding dependency

The menu entries for editing the currently selected mail folder are in a Folder
menu. Would it perhaps be better to put the addressbook modify menu entries in
an Addressbook menu as well for consistency?

Ooperations in the Folder menu that would make sense in the Addressbook menu are:
New
Delete
Select All Message (->Contacts)
Rename
Properties

Five entries seems like a good excuse for a menu to me, and it would make the UI
a lot more consistent, which is yay-good.
