Description Spencer Joplin 2005-08-29 05:29:12 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
Consider this example file: http://www.calpoly.edu/~sjoplin/IMG_1079.jpg (726 KiB).

Open it with the precompiled version of win-gimp available off SF.net. I tested
2.2.8 and 2.2.4, with identical results.

It crashes just before the image would otherwise display for editing.

Stack trace:
Not that sophisticated, but here's a start.

GIMP's own error message:

Plug-In crashed: "jpeg.exe"
(C:\Programs\gimp-2.2.8\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\jpeg.exe)

The dying Plug-In may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save
your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.

Windows XP's error message:

AppName: jpeg.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 0003700e

Other information:
The files were (poorly) edited using Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003
(11.5510.6408). From asking the editor, I know that at least brightness and
contrast were adjusted.
