GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 314547
Cannot create folder from right click menu in list view
Last modified: 2008-03-24 14:45:22 UTC
Please describe the problem: It is apparently not possible to create a folder from the context menu when viewing files in list view. This is possible in icon view. Steps to reproduce: 1. open nautilus in list view mode. 2. right click on the list area Actual results: no create folder option Expected results: a create folder option ought to be available Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
My background context menu contains such an item.
It seems that my problem is that there is no background area to right-click on, so there is always an item highlighted. I attach a screenshot.
Created attachment 51553 [details] shows the absence of create folder in the context menu.
Ah, now I see...two issues: a) no way to bring up background context menu (covered by bug 94618) b) no way to create a subfolder for a given highlighted folder through its context menu If you want to create a folder at the displayed location, you should use file->new folder for now.
Requested information provided. REOPENing.
