Description Michael Monreal 2005-08-25 21:19:10 UTC
Version details: 2.3.8
Distribution/Version: Ubuntu Breezy

I filed a bug a few weeks ago, saying Beagle mixes up the data fieds in contact
queries. I never noticed until today that the problem is not native to Beagle, I
can see this in Evolution, too.

(*) in Evolution, everything looks fine in the contact editor, but if you
display the contacts als a list, the columns will display the wrong fields, for
example: given name as family name and "File as" for the family name.

(*) in Beagle, if a query returns a contact tile, it contains the Email/IM
information for that contact, but they are mixed up (AIM account where email
should be etc)

I tested this with a fresh 1.3.8 build and a new profile today, even the first
contact I create is displayed wrong, so it has nothing to do with my .evolution
profile.

I don't know if this is really the fault of eds, but as it affects 2
applications that make use of it...

Fix is committed to cvs head.
Comment 4 Michael Monreal 2005-08-26 08:39:37 UTC
Are you talking about eds head? I just build that and the problem is not
fixed... further, I can't find a fitting changelog entry
Comment 5 Sebastien Bacher 2005-08-26 08:53:50 UTC
a part of the GNOME maintainer copy the ChangeLog entry corresponding to the fix
to bugzilla when closing a bug, that's much easier to know what fixes the issue
this way, maybe you guys could do that too?
Comment 6 Michael Monreal 2005-08-27 14:25:49 UTC
Ok, so this was fixed in *evolution* head... also, interesting to know that
evolution has multiple changelogs, no wonder I didn't see the commit at first.
Anyway, it's fixed, thanks very much.
