Description David D. Hagood 2005-08-23 21:03:51 UTC
When trying to enter a value such as 2.0E-9 in scientific or engineering mode,
it is not possible to negate the exponent: entering "2" "Exp" "-" "9" results in
the calculator computing 2-9, entering "2" "Exp" "+/-" "9" results in 9e0 (the
entry of the exponent is aborted and then the 9 taken as a new value).

Either allow the signchange button to change the sign of the exponent when it is
being entered or allow the entry of a leading minus sign.

I can't reproduce this with Gcalctool 5.6.28. This may have been fixed already.
Can you try with the latest version?

Closing this as a duplication of bug #309182. The online help
still needs to be updated to reflect the different way this is
handled in arithmetic operator precedence mode. This is part of
bug #309210.
