Using the uxtheme patch from neowin and a windows theme with a different font,
GIMP gave me an error when I tried to access the C drive to open an image file;

"Pango-ERROR **: file shape.c line 75 > (pango_shape): assertion failed:
(glyphs->num_glyphs > 0)"

Changing the theme back to the windows xp default theme fixed the problem, and
GIMP is running perfectly fine...
