GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 314264
gzipped postscript files are not printed correctly
Last modified: 2005-08-29 05:23:50 UTC
Please describe the problem: Evince can show gzipped ps files fine. However, printing them results in a mutilated ps file being sent to the printer. Steps to reproduce: 1. create a gzipped ps file 2. open it in evince 3. print the document to a file (or to the printer, if you have ink and paper to spare) Actual results: The printer prints garbage (if you actually sent the job to the printer), or a file (let's call it output.ps) is created, which looks like a gzipped postscript file, but really isn't: [bas@matilda]~> file output.ps output.ps: gzip compressed data, was "grcan.ps\371\200:\234p\333\0217q\305\201\034\257\027\223,\221\177\325\311RW\230", from Unix, max compression [bas@matilda]~> gunzip -S '' output.ps gunzip: output.ps: unexpected end of file Expected results: The uncompressed ps source should be printed Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Hi, what is you evince version? Please try at least 0.3.4, this bug should be fixed there. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 311016 ***
Yeah, I was using 0.3.0 (in Debian unstable). 0.3.4 works fine, thanks.
