1.  Right click on desktop.
2.  Select Create Document -> Empty File.
3.  Middle click, drag, and release the new file on the desktop.

The entire desktop locks up.

The lock up happens every time.  It looks like the problem didn't surface until
the following patch was applied to CVS.

This was caused by the threading patch from bug #312894. I backed it out for now.
