Description Vincent Noel 2005-08-08 17:59:10 UTC
With CVS cairo, poppler and evince, several PDFs are wrongly rendered, see for
example this one :

Could you try out the 0.4 branch of poppler? This is what will be in gnome 2.12
and we recently checked in a change to the font handling on head which likely is
the cause of this problem.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2005-08-18 13:27:03 UTC
It does look like acrobat uses a different font than evince for this doc, but
otherwise AFAICT with HEAD evince renders this fine- Vincent, please reopen if
you are seeing something kristian and I are not.
Comment 4 Martin Kretzschmar 2005-08-18 14:40:53 UTC
That's a bug (marketing gag because everybody's tired of looking at Times and
Helvetica?) in Acrobat.

Acrobat doesn't use the real Times/Helvetica when they're not embedded in pdf
files. Neither does evince. But our fonts look like the real fonts.

This bug is still not fixed, although it is marked as such... can someone please reopen it? Bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4030 seems related too.
Comment 6 Nickolay V. Shmyrev 2006-01-21 20:01:31 UTC
I think it's a poppler issue anyhow, let's discuss it in poppler bug 4030
Comment 7 Mathis Ahrens 2006-01-29 22:07:12 UTC
That bug should discuss the crash, but the rendering seems fixed in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5758
