GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 312843
nautilus background causes strange graphical errors
Last modified: 2005-08-08 09:12:21 UTC
Please describe the problem: nautilus (both 2.10 and 2.11.x) with the newer gtk+ (2.7.x) and glib (2.7.x) libraries causes strange graphical artifacts on the desktop when i use a jpeg or png image. basically the screen replicates itself in bizarre ways, either dragging up, or tiling itself. Steps to reproduce: 1. upgrade to glib-2.7.x and gtk+-2.7.x 2. change desktop background to image 3. watch the desktop do odd things Actual results: i'll try and attach some screenshots Expected results: Does this happen every time? i've found strange interactions when choosing different styles, such as tiled, scaled and full-screen. for some reason, i've managed to get things stable with the "Aqua Foot" background in tiled mode. but many others don't give me any working state. it appears that png files cause more problems than jpg, but i can't be certain--except for the fact that the only background images i got any sense of stability out of were all jpegs. Other information: using xorg-x11-6.8.2 with radeon 7500. also have cairo and glitz enabled.
