Currently the side pane can be resized as small as you want. This creates some
weird effects, truncated widgets, etc.
I guess the side pane should be only as small as the combobox + the close button
(which is already pretty small).

FWIW, evince handles it like in this proposal.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
