GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 311666
Different context menu for message pane - provide view options
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:33:28 UTC
If you use the preview pane and want to change view settings - its a far distance for your pointer to get there. View-settings should be available fast. e.g. "View"->"Message Display"->"Load Images|Normal Display|Show Full Headers|Show Email Source" other examples are easy to find i suggest to add a different context menu inside the msg view, leave the old menu in the head of the msg view, but add a new one that contains: "Load Images|Normal Display|Show Full Headers|Show Email Source|Smaller|Larger..." Pictures show more than 1000 words, heres a mock up: http://poweroftwo.de/context_menu_for_view.jpg Other information: hope you like it, regards, Sven Jaborek
in evolution 2.3.5.1, you have "view | message source" and "view | all message headers". you also have "view | load images" and "view | zoom in" and "view | some out". so all is very easily to get there. except "all message headers, all menu items have also keyboard shortcuts. so i guess this covers all your issues except the different content menu for messages in the message pane. please do NOT post bugs into UI - what do you guess means "Do Not Use"?! this is definitely a mailer issue since it only refers to the mailer. please use the UI keyword instead, thanks in advance. :-)
i wondered about "Do not use", but then i thought "Do not use user interface" could be a hack like gnus not unix or so :-)
Apologies for any spam... cc'ing usability-maint on all Evolution usability bugs. Filter on EVO-USABILITY-SPAM to ignore.
URL is dead nowadays. Thunderbird has buttons for some of these as part of the message preview pane.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
