GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 311619
ftp access fails when username contains "@"
Last modified: 2005-07-26 17:03:20 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable Package: nautilus Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.10.2 2.10.x Gnome-Distributor: Debian Synopsis: ftp access fails when username contains "@" Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations Bugzilla-Version: 2.10.x Description: Description of Problem: When connecting an FTP location (with login), the username doesn't work when it contains "@" character. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a FTP account with a username containing "@" (eg. incinerateurs@ftpgp) 2. See it works fine with the shell ftp program (no %40 conversion anywhere) 3. See it doesn't work with nautillus Actual Results: The login "incinerateurs@ftpgp" is converted to "incinerateurs%40ftpgp" and this is OK because URI is ftp://incinerateurs%40ftpgp:mypassword@www.greenpeace.fr/". When dumping packets with tcpdump, one can see "incinerateurs%40ftpgp" is NOT converted back into incinerateurs@ftpgp during connection (user name). Expected Results: The loginname escaped characters should be converted back into their original ascii value, shouldn't it? How often does this happen?
