That happens when I try to save an image after pasted layers... I operate with 
windows 98se. I have lost lots of images for that problem. When I try to save 
the system crashes saying "Couldn't find Sanserif 8".

If your whole system crashes, this is hardly a GIMP problem. Also, 2.2.1 is
pretty old, we're now at 2.2.8. I suggest that you update to this version and
check if this still happens.

This says basically the same thing as bug #166876, which is itself a duplicate
of the well-known bug #112401.  See also question 6 in the FAQ:
