GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 310955
Handle
Last modified: 2005-07-28 08:36:06 UTC
Distribution/Version: Gentoo insert a cd that has more than one artist. the track names become "artist / track", and the artist becomes "various". the artist and track names should remain as they were obtained from the musicbrainz server. if the user has selected artist as part of the directory in which to store the cd, that should be "various". this bug is related to 157814.
What album are you seeing this with? I have a multiple-artist CD and SJ works as I expect. My guess is that in this case MusicBrainz is taking the data from FreeDB, so the right solution is to import the album into MusicBrainz, or fix MusicBrainz so that it corrects the title/artist fields.
let's see... it happened with heavyweight3 - a blood and fire sampler, which doesn't seem to be in musicbrainz. however, it also happened with the children of mu compilation, which is in musicbrainz, and things look correct.
It's possible that your Children of Mu is a different release to the one in Musicbrainz so you were sent data imported from FreeDB. However, this bug isn't "SJ renames track" but "SJ should rename tracks". :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 155425 ***
