GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 310915
Terminal reset/reset & clear not present in right-click context menu
Last modified: 2014-01-20 23:23:13 UTC
I like to run my gnome-terminals without the menu bar. However, when I need to reset the terminal due to wayward binary terminal output, I have to first enable the menu bar to access the "Reset" and/or "Reset & Clear" menus. Personally, I find myself needing to reset the terminal more often than other things like changing/editing the profile, or changing input methods. I would prefer to have one or both of the reset commands provided in the context menu as well.
Hi, I personally don't think it is a good idea to add more clutter to the right-click context menu (it is already full of stuff as it is..) I think that typing "reset" in a shell the few times that the output of the terminal goes nuts should not be a big problem, no?
i wouldn't have a problem with typing reset in the shell... unfortunately it often doesn't work.
(In reply to comment #2) > i wouldn't have a problem with typing reset in the shell... unfortunately it > often doesn't work. If that's still the case, you should open a bug report about that issue. As typing reset seems a good enough solution, and I doubt there's a chance the menu entry will be added to the right click menu, I'm closing this request as wontfix. Thanks for your report.
