GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 310790
videotestsrc broken for i420 colorspace
Last modified: 2005-07-27 18:47:55 UTC
gst-launch videotestsrc ! video/x-raw-yuv,format=\(fourcc\)I420 ! xvimagesink The image is of the right size, but it looks like the color bars are squished. Like the U and V planes weren't totally filled or something, I'm ignorant. The static area is fine though.
Forgot to add, this is 0.9. Dave, would you mind having a look at this? Thanks billions.
Works fine here.
Works fine for me in 0.8 CVS. Does not work fine in 0.9. Attaching screenshot made from gst-launch videotestsrc ! video/x-raw-yuv,format=\(fourcc\)I420 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! ximagesink.

You TOTALLY gimped that up.
Foh real doh dogs! That is what I see.
You are just intimidated by gnome-screenshot's --include-border option. Be not afraid (or skeptical).

Bug 311485 notes the same problem for YV12
This is a bug in liboil, replacing the oil_splat_u8_ns(x,y,z); by the (slower) oil_splat_u8 (x, 1, y, z); makes it work perfectly well. NOTGNOME?
Fixed in liboil CVS; marking NOTGNOME.
