GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 309185
"Create Folder" is not helpful when create a folder with a '/'
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:33:56 UTC
I wanted to create a folder with a '/' in it, and was then confronted by the Create Folder dialog having the "Create" button greyed out. It is not at all obvious from the dialog that the problem was the '/' and I had to go step by step to work out what the actual problem was.
you don't get an error message? please also take a look at bug 271105, perhaps this comment should go to bug 271105 and this one here should be closed, i don't know... :-/
The other bug is about renaming folders, this one is about creating folders, and no, there isn't any error messages, just the "Create" button is insensitive, I'll take a screenshot to show.
Created attachment 48454 [details] Screenshot of create dialog when trying to use a '/'

Oops. Sorry, I have marked it as duplicate. Marking as enhancement.
Moving this to Mailer.
Still valid in 3.2.3
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
