Description Bader Ladjemi 2005-06-25 18:00:18 UTC
I tried to same a mail. I clicked on Save instead of Save as a Draft, and it
EXPORTs my mail as an HTML file instead of keeping it intact.
I think those Save (as) menu entry should disapear or be renamed as Export in HTML.
In fact even the HTML Export is not exporting the full mail but only the mail's
body text.

it's a DRAFT! we save it in html to preserve formatting. this is not a bug, and
it is NOT an EXPORT. A draft, is, by definition, NOT the mail we send.
Comment 2 Karsten Bräckelmann 2005-06-25 18:09:33 UTC
Confirming this bug. Shifting Product to GtkHTML.

A "Save" and "Save as" option is valid for a general purpose HTML Editor, but it
is almost superfluous while using GtkHTML as a Mail Composer.

Not yet finished mails are stored as Draft, rather than a file.

If the "Save" option should stay nonetheless, we need to re-phrase it to clearly
state what it does.
Comment 3 Karsten Bräckelmann 2005-06-25 18:10:47 UTC
Reopening.

There is no easy way to continue with that saved file.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2005-09-27 20:25:32 UTC
so according to comment#2 it's also a string issue, adding keyword
Comment 5 André Klapper 2006-01-06 18:50:33 UTC
so, comments, proposals?
Comment 6 André Klapper 2006-07-05 00:35:10 UTC
very unimportant stuff, as fejj noted. sorry.
Comment 7 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 01:03:20 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 8 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-29 14:33:33 UTC
So should we just remove the Save / Save As... actions?
Comment 9 Matthew Barnes 2008-04-06 16:29:00 UTC
Closing this as a dupe of bug #526402, where I've proposed dropping the "Save" and "Save As" actions in the new composer.
