GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 308768
sticky notes always on top
Last modified: 2005-06-24 16:14:30 UTC
Please describe the problem: As of v2.10 the sticky notes have the "always on top" property set. Even if you click on alt-space for each note and change this, when you log back in, they're all on top again. As I had about 16 notes on my desktop, I could no longer view any other windows. I had to delete all my sticky notes and archive in a text file I put on the Desktop and stretched the preview-icon so big, that I could still read them. I know this is a usability issue, but it's so severe, that I can no longer use sticky notes. For me, sticky notes are now useless, and I used them all the time. The Preferences Dialog *needs* a button to set this property! Steps to reproduce: 1. put about twenty sticky notes on your desktop 2. open up a browser or you mail program 3. get frustrated that you can't read anything through all the sticky notes 4. set the "always on top" property for the window you're trying to read 5. get even more frustrated because now everything else is hidden behind your browser window... Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
