GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 307801
GStreamer not handling avi with DV
Last modified: 2005-09-24 11:50:28 UTC
Please describe the problem: transcoded a file with mencoder, it uses raw pcm for audio and DV for video inside AVI. Totem fails when playing with the following: [cschalle@wildsrc ~]$ totem test.avi ** Message: don't know how to handle video/x-dv, systemstream=(boolean)false, framerate=(double)25, width=(int)360, height=(int)288 Steps to reproduce: I can provide the file on request if needed/wanted. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Hi Christian, yes, always please provide a link to a small part of the file (few MB should be enough).
Created attachment 47874 [details] Avi with raw PCM audio and libdv DV video
I have my doubts about this file... It seems created with mplayer, but even mplayer itself doesn't play it. DV is 30fps@NTSC or 25fps@PAL. This movie is 380xsomething at 15fps. Nothing can decode that. All decoders that I know hardcode size. Are you sure this file is supposed to be OK?
Its a transcoded Real file transcoded using mencoder, no idea wether there is a bug in Mencoder making it a useless file or not.
closing.. this file seems quite b0rked :) (gstreamer, xine, mplayer, etc can't play it..) Please reopen the bug if you can play it anywhere!
