Description Simon Howard 2005-06-13 12:41:07 UTC
The profiles system in gnome-terminal seems like useless crackrock which
clutters the interface. I don't use profiles and I doubt many other people do.

Reasons I think profiles complicate gnome-terminal unneccessarily:

* The simple action of opening a new window/tab requires opening a submenu, even
when I only have one profile in my system.
* The settings dialog is hidden inside the unintuitively named "Current Profile"
menu item
* Redundant menu items such as "Change Profile" when there is only one profile.

At the very least the system should be simplified when there is only one profile
available; ie. turn the "Open Terminal"/"Open Tab" menus into menu items, etc.
The profiles system should be "hidden" unless the user has more than one profile.
