Description Anders Rune Jensen 2005-06-10 13:39:43 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The continuous mode is good for documents such as books or maybe articles but is
not very well suited for presentations. When I open my presentation I have to
disable continuous mode and use best fit. Evince doesn't remember my settings so
I have to enable them each time I open the program. So my main grip is that
evince doesn't remember my preferences.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Does this happen every time?

Another problem with continuous mode is that you often end up staring at the
uninteresting margin at the bottom of one page and the margin at the top of the
next page, which leads to excessive scrolling. I've always hated this in Adobe
Acrobate Reader. :-) I have not clue on how to avoid this, but is continuous
mode really the most appropriate default?

So this seems like a duplicate of bug 168285

The continuous as a default I believe is the best option, but it should remember
when you change it. Perhaps if your PDF is marked as a presentation and it goes
into fullscreen, then we should change the default automatically. But this
doesn't sound like that bug. Feel free to mark it otherwise.
