GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 306690
use notification-area-applet to show vnc connections with an "vino" icon
Last modified: 2005-07-17 19:38:28 UTC
Hi, this is an idea for a feature request. * I'd like to see an icon in the gnome-panel if someone is connected with my desktop with an vnc connection (remote desktop). * If i click on that icon i want to be informed who is connected and some statistics about the connection would be fine. (are there ways to get the users name? otherwise the IP is ok) * Using the eggtray icon to force a disconnection is a needed feature too (menu on right click) * Consider that there must be a list of the connections in the menu, many people may be connected to the desktop if you're a teacher or sitting a guadec during a presentation and the beamer is not working ;-) . * minor matter: menu entry to open the remote desktop settings from there as well This feature would increase security. Just imagine someone could watch you because you've forgotten to disable the remote desktop, without password, after the meeting. If network is fast enough a user would perhaps not notice he is observed for a long time.
