GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 305654
undo support in Sticky Notes would be brilliant
Last modified: 2020-11-07 12:26:28 UTC
without even thinking I deleted some text and pressed Ctrl+Z in an attempt to undo it and was sorely disappointed that I didn't even have one level of undo in Sticky notes. it would be great if stick notes had even basic undo support.
I'd too like to have undo support for sticky notes.
I've also been harmed by this. I really can't understand the reasoning why GNOME's Sticky Tools don't have undo support.
It's true, data loss happened to me too. I'm almost afraid to use sticky notes now. This bug shouldn't have status UNCONFIRMED.
I agree that it would be very, very nice to have undo/redo functionality built into GNOME's Sticky Notes applet. I haven't found any other application that integrates into GNOME's desktop the same way that Sticky Notes does, so I like using it. But not having undo/redo functionality is dangerous. It's too easy to permanently erase something important.
I think this bug will never be fixed. GNOME 3 doesn't even have the lovely sticky notes that some of us love so much.

If you still use gnome-applets and if you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-applets/-/issues/ Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
