Description:
I attempted to load kmail (failed), after this, I opened the main menu
(with programmes), then the panel crashed.
In combination with Kmail, this happens more often (not allways!).

There was no other non-gnome programme loaded.

btw: do you know a good gtk-compatible mail programmme? Please let me
know
