Screenshot that shows that evo isn't responding anymore

As you can see it wont load the message (retrieving waits forever). Nor will it
stop "Pinging" this e-mail IMAP server.
Comment 2 Philip Van Hoof 2005-05-18 11:08:11 UTC
My last checkout from CVS more or less solved this problem. It will now throw a
error message box telling me something happened.

The cancel button will also work (since my last checkout yesterday evening).

So the developer who've fixed this, touched the right parts in the code :-)
Comment 3 Not Zed 2005-08-04 06:36:00 UTC
maybe a bug in imap4? closing assuming fixed as per last comment.
Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2006-08-05 14:00:26 UTC
I still see this occasionally on Evolution 2.6.2, so reopening
Comment 5 Philip Van Hoof 2007-01-30 11:11:52 UTC
Note that the IMAP4 code is not enabled by most Evolution releases (right?), so this problem might not occur on new releases.

Will be keep the bug open?
Comment 6 Matthew Barnes 2008-11-19 14:45:20 UTC
Moving this to Mailer.
Comment 7 Dominique Leuenberger 2010-05-16 18:49:19 UTC
I see this hapening once in a while, evolution 2.30.1.2...

The server does not reply on ICMP anyhow and in general I don't understand why the client is even trying to ping the server.
Comment 8 Joachim Breitner 2012-06-11 21:11:06 UTC
This might be a duplicate of #557078.
Comment 9 Matthew Barnes 2013-08-19 14:49:09 UTC
Closing as OBSOLETE, since this was filed against the legacy IMAP backend which was retired in 3.8.
