Description spherical.perceptions 2005-05-13 20:37:47 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Please see http://www.botmanfamily.net/~aurelien/tmp/gimp-error.png

Under the windows XP version:

the "save as" dialog cannot generate previews (error about invalid encoding
appears, see image);
the same error dialog appears upon subsequent attempts to save the file. As far
as I can tell the file is saved OK but the dialog pops up so often (each time
anything happens which requires the preview in the icon/title bar to be updated)
that it gets so annoying that I cannot work on the file at all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new image.
2. Choose "save as".
3. Click on "browse for other folders".
4. Whatever happens from now you get the error each time any preview needs to be
drawn, be it in save-as dialog or in title bar of window.

Actual results:
See image.

Expected results:
Not to see error dialog.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Comment 1 Sven Neumann 2005-05-14 01:34:08 UTC
Did you update GTK+ to version 2.6.7? This problem is supposed to be fixed there.
Comment 2 spherical.perceptions 2005-05-17 18:03:33 UTC
I have GTK+ 2.6.7, yes. I re-installed it just in case but the problem is still
there.
Comment 3 Sven Neumann 2005-05-23 15:18:06 UTC
Unfortunately, Jernej used to distribute GTK+ 2.6.4 in the installer that was
labelled GTK+ 2.6.7. AFAIK this has been corrected in the meantime. Please try
again with the updated installer.

Jernej's new (fixed) installer has fixed the problem.
Thanks.
