GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 303866
CJK and Indic layout issue when printing from evolution cal
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:03:54 UTC
Please describe the problem: Printing the entries from the Evolution Calendars for CJKI languages have a common behaviour. For CJK, the second character always shows up being halved. Please see attached ps file for ko locale. For Indic, the length of the string description the hour varies. So for those shorter ones, they are display ok, but not so for the longer ones. I have also attached one ps file for Indic (hi_IN). Steps to reproduce: 1.start evolution in any of the CJK locale, eg, LANG=zh_TW.UTF-8 evolution 2.click on the Calendar 3.print the Calendar Actual results: For CJK, the second character always shows up being halved. Please see attached ps file for ko locale. For Indic, the length of the string description the hour varies. So for those shorter ones, they are display ok, but not so for the longer ones. I have also attached one ps file for Indic (hi_IN). Expected results: No overlapping occurs. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
Created attachment 46348 [details] ps file for hi_IN locale
Created attachment 46349 [details] ps file for ko_KR locale
Lawrence: Is this reproducible in latest releases of Evolution ? Adding keyword.
Nagappan: Yes. All bugs submitted today were found on the latest version of Evolution.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
