GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 303568
Cannot scroll when tasks fill the pane in gantt chart
Last modified: 2006-04-06 13:14:07 UTC
Insert enough tasks into the gantt chart to fill the task list vertically and the scrollbar does not appear, if it does apear it doesn't scroll far enough to see the bottom items.
Which version is this? And are the lines in the task tree aligned correclty with the lines in the gantt chart?
Any comments?
This happened when I used a font other than the default font. So it appears to be something to do with font rendering? Once I switched back to the standard font it worked OK. >> are the lines in the task tree aligned correclty No I don't believe they were. As the font size seemed to press down vertically somewhat, if you get what I mean.
Created attachment 59312 [details] Misaligned tasks Here you can see that the tasks are misaligned with a non standard font, I'm using verdana in this screen shot.
Created attachment 59313 [details] How the alignment affects scrolling You can see here that there are 25 task in the gantt chart, 23 are fully visible in the list, 24 is partially obscured and 25 is hidden. Moreover 25 is unreachable as there is no scroll bar available.
I see this to. After filling enough tasks to fill task list window I cannot scroll anymore. This is because scollbars are synchronized with gant chart wich is shorter that task list. Workaround for this is to insert enough empty tasks so gantt chart is big enough to be able to scroll down non empty part of list
A proper fix should keep the tasks aligned with the gantt chart, the height of each gantt chart element should be adjusted to match the height of the text. This is also an accessibility issue as any user who uses larger than normal fonts will experience this issue. Maybe some cairo rendering is in order?
Agreed. The alignment issue is being worked under bug # 128983. Marking this one as a duplicate. Thanks for the bug report. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 128983 ***
