GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 303538
drag and drop extract fails
Last modified: 2006-03-18 10:55:43 UTC
Please describe the problem: File-roller will not always extract files when they are dragged from an archive to a nautilus folder or the desktop. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a large archive in file-roller. 2. Open a nautilus window. 3. Select a file or folder inside the archive containing a large amount of data. 4. Click and hold on the large file or folder, and drag the mouse over the nautilus window. Do not let go of the mouse. 5. While still holding the mouse button, move the mouse over the desktop. 6. Release the mouse button. Actual results: The selected files are not extracted to the final drop target (the desktop). Expected results: The selected files should be extracted to the final drop target (the desktop). Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: The real requirement to reproduce this bug is that the dragging cursor move out of the main window and through at least one other before reaching the final drop target. This "other" window can be file roller itself. For example, if the large file or folder is dragged out of the file roller window onto the desktop, back into the file roller window, and out onto the desktop again, the same thing will happen.
Still valid for 2.10
