Description Ian Pocock 2005-05-04 23:54:49 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Operating system: Windows XP Pro
Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024

Whenever I try to open a photo, sized 1600 x 1200, taken by a 3 mega-pixel
Canon digital camera, the GIMP looks like it loads it, and then crashes.
The error message it comes up with reads:

Plug-In crashed: "jpeg.exe"
(C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\jpeg.exe)
The dying Plug-In may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to
save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.

Opening 'C:\Photos\2005_04_04\142_4240.jpg' failed:
Plug-In could not open image

Steps to reproduce:
1. Running GIMP, latest stable release, on Windows XP, open the image.

Actual results:
The program appears to load the image, and then crashes, giving the error
message - first a Windows "Program Failed" error, then the GIMP error.

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
GIMP seems to open other JPG images fine, just not these ones...
