Description Johann Glaser 2005-05-01 19:55:31 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: Evolution
Severity: critical
Version: GNOME2.8.3 2.2.x
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Change of recurring appointment possible
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Calendar
Bugzilla-Version: 2.2.x
Description:
Description of Problem:
It is now possible to change a recurring appointment. I don't remember
so exactly if this was possible in 2.0.x too but I don't think so. Never
mind, one special case is even worse:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. create an appointment and make it recurring (e.g. once a week)
2. in the day view click on a recursion of this appointment (not the
first one!) -> it is editable (shouldn't be)
3. now click away again
4. put the mouse above the upper bound (=beginning) of the appointment
-> mouse pointer doesn't change
5. click and drag the appointment's beginning

Actual Results:
The appointment's beginning can be changed. After this change the
appointment has vanished.

Expected Results:
Recurring appointments are only allowed to be changed when
doubleclicked, not directly in the day view (e.g. except the first,
primary one)

How often does this happen?
always

Additional Information:
When opening the calendar file with a text editor, you find the
appointment still there but the begin date and time has changed to the
current day and the adjusted time. Since the end date/time is _before_
the (new) begin, it is not displayed.

I suppose just modifying a recurring appointment for a particular instance does
not work properly. First this should be fixed.
Comment 2 Chenthill P 2005-08-05 08:19:08 UTC
It is valid to change the time of the appointment from the day view itself (by
resizing), it is similar to opening the appointment and changing the time. So
there is a bug in modifying a recurring appointment. Marking it as a duplicate
since 310452 is more specfic.
